Grandad's new car

My Dutch grandad Paco has always preferred cars made by the French manufacturer Citroën. Citroën cars are very comfortable, their suspension system innovation is unrivalled, and makes driving a Citroen seem like flying a magic carpet. Some people say Citroën cars therefore lack driver engagement, and are boring to drive. But my grandad never cared much for sporty, road-hugging cars, he always preferred a quiet smooth ride so he could listen to his Neil Young tapes (and later CDs). But now grandad Paco has bought a new car. A car that is not at all like a Citroën.

This is him in his new car, you can just make out his distinctive grey mustache under that big hemlet. As always grandad Paco put a lot of thought into the purchase of this vehicle. He checked all the consumer literature from way back to see what buggy would give him the best value for money. Yes, a lot of thought and consideration went into choosing the right car, and that's why he now drives a car that's perfectly suited to the Dutch climate, with a great sound system, portable head protection, good off-road performance for those dodgy motorways in the Netherlands, and lots of room for luggage for when he and granny Mina go camping. Excellent choice, grandad Paco!

He bought his desert buggy during a vacation in Morocco, and says he went for drive through the desert, but the scenery in the photo looks awfully green to be a desert, it just looks like the Veluwe to me. He also says he blasted the buggy down to Dakar to see what that baby could do. Methinks grandad Paco is having a midlife crisis...But I don't mind, I still think my grandad Paco is the coolest!
