Post-Holiday Post

Back from a week away on the Costa del Sol, that little piece of Britain in the South of Spain, where you order a 'cerveza' and the waiter replies 'you what?' We couldn't even get Spanish TV! Only Sky. And where supermarkets are desolate and restaurants packed on Saturdays around six, which you won't see anywhere else in Spain. This truly is 'guirilandia'.
My cousin Santiago is over from Mexico, with his parents, and we spent a quiet week at a villa in the hills near Marbella. With Geordie neighbours to our left, Irish ones to our right, and Scottisch ones on the other side of the pool. As you can see, the house offered great views and a refreshing pool. We had excellent yoghurt, tasty milk, a gut-filling barbecue feast with Argentinian tenderloin and chorizo, and some wine.
