Combat global warming, lose the tie!

Revolutionary government ministers in Italy and Spain are calling on office workers to stop wearing neckties. Freeing the neck of a tight-fitting tie would immediately cool the body temperature by 2C to 3C. And that would mean companies could turn the air conditioning down, hence saving energy and reducing....bla di bla bla




Spain's industry minister, Miguel Sebastian, has already shown the way by being the first man to not wear a tie during a session of Spanish parliament.

Japan's environment minister had earlier launched a similar initiative under the name 'Cool Biz', and claimed that getting rid of men's ties had kept 460,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.




Al Gore has also joined the tieless club. He does his speech without a tie now. But that is a mere drop in the ocean that is his carbon footprint.
